Hangar Airside Liability
Owners/lessees of private hangars may be responsible and/or legally liable for loss, damage or injury that occurs in or about the hangar, or offices/buildings attached thereto, particularly if occasioned by the negligence of the owner/lessee or his employees.
In addition, many airport authorities require evidence of legal liability coverage as a condition of the use of such facilities, including the operation of vehicles “airside”, which is generally excluded under a motor vehicle liability insurance policy.
Even in the absence of proven liability, the cost of defending claims can be significant.
Hangar Liability insurance provides indemnity, and legal defence costs, for the owners/lessees of hangars and can be adapted to include vehicle “airside” liability.
